When I was putting together my baby shower gift registry, I kept coming up against the same problem. I couldn’t for the life of me find baby products that were fashionable AND functional. I was also looking for items like activity centres and infant high chairs that could convert and grow with my baby over time.
“Sorry,” my friends and even the sales associates said. “people don’t make baby products like that.” I’m sorry, what? Had my sense of style disappeared when I became a mom? Nope, chic for life. Was it too much to ask to find items designed with both my baby and home decor in mind?
Acclaimed American designer, Jonathan Adler didn’t think so. As the newly appointed Creative Director of Fisher-Price, Adler set out to fill a demand in the market for stylish, functional baby gear.
When Adler says, “Because it’s never to early to develop a baby’s sense of style,” I couldn’t agree more. His collection of baby products combines sleek, modern design with features and benefits based on childhood development research. Adler’s line is gender and decor neutral to fit in with your sophisticated style and growing family.
Already launched in the USA, the Jonathan Adler Crafted by Fisher-Price Collection is now available in Canada. To celebrate its arrival, I partnered with chic baby boutique, Snuggle Bugz, to test out the Deluxe High Chair.
Modern Infant High Chairs: The Jonathan Adler Collection
Ironically, my baby and I both went (goo-goo) gaga over the Deluxe High Chair. I liked how the infant high chair’s design seamlessly blended in with my decor. My baby loved the high-contrast pattern on the crevice-free seat. When I took him out, he kept tracing his fingers around the black and white circles.
The high chair has a long list of well-thought out features. Here are my favourites:
- Assembled in 5 minutes.
- Straps are rubber not fabric, so they don’t absorb food stains.
- No nooks or crannies for crumbs to hide in.
- Convertible feature to a baby travel chair.
- Retractable straps in the SpaceSaver mode.
Note: The Deluxe High Chair is suitable for babies with enough upper body control to sit up unassisted.
