In Paris, the coolest hair style is all about “undone glamour.” Parisian women seem to have a knack for making their hair style look effortless and casual, yet completely covetable.
I can’t figure out if French women spend a lot of time on their hair, or if they’ve simply mastered the effortlessly chic look during their morning routine.
Scroll down for a peek at some of the coolest hair style trends hitting the streets of Paris right now.
Paris Street Style: Coolest Hair Style Trends
1. Tousled Tresses
One of the most popular and coolest hair style trends I see all over Paris is this look, featured on French style icon, Caroline de Maigret. This hair style is definitely a favourite of the cool Parisian girl who looks like she was out drinking champagne on the rue Rivoli until dawn then sauntered out of bed looking chic and on point.

On day old hair, apply dry shampoo to roots to clean hair and boost volume. Create some beach waves by spraying some surf spray to your locks for a windswept effect. Use your fingers to scrunch hair around the crown throughout the day to add volume and create a sexy, tousled look.
2. The Chignon
Synonymous with Parisian style, the chignon is an easy hairstyle to add to your repertoire for a relaxed but sophisticated look. As pictured above on French trendsetter, Jeanne Damas, its a versatile style that will look good heading into the office or for a 5 à 7 (cocktails) with your girlfriends.
Get the Look:
A chignon is essentially a low bun. Add a volume boosting spray to the roots of dry hair. Use elastics to separate your intro three sections: a low ponytail and two side ponies. Create a low bun at the nap of the neck. Remove elastics and wrap remaining two sections of hair around the bun and secure with bobby pins. Pull down a strands of hair to frame the face and finish ends with a quick pass of a curling iron. Finish with setting spray.
3. Natural Curls
French women are all about feeling liberated. While many professional women seem to sport very coiffed hairstyles during the day, most of the cool Parisian girls I see on the streets and at night cafés got for a more naturally curly or wavy look. Take a peek at this style by Paris fashion blogger, Adeline Rapon.
Get the Look:
Apply styling cream to damp hair to capture curls in their optimal frizz-free state. Use a diffuser to gently dry each section of hair, being careful not to disturb curls too much. Finish with a smoothing serum to add shine to your locks.
